Circus Advocacy & Sector Development
Strengthening a circus sector that moves, grows, and evolves
I am actively engaged in circus advocacy and circus sector development in Australia, contributing to national and NT‑based conversations about access, safety, professional pathways, and the role of circus within community and cultural contexts.
My advocacy is grounded in long‑term practice, community relationships, and a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and technically informed circus environments.
I serve on the 2026/27 NICA Advisory Group and as a Circus and Physical Theatre Advisor with Theatre Network Australia, supporting sector initiatives that strengthen capability, integrity, and sustainable practice across the country. This work draws on practical experience and research, including my Churchill Fellowship, and reflects a commitment to a sector that is culturally responsive, forward‑looking, and respectful of the knowledge that has shaped it.
As an arts sector advisor in the NT, my advocacy centres on strengthening systems that support ethical practice, sustainable delivery, and recognition of circus as a vital form of community‑based arts practice.
